WIN THE SIERRA STORYTELLING FESTIVAL QUILT!

Enter our raffle, and maybe you'll be a lucky quilt winner.

Raffle tickets will be available on site during the festival as well as before the festival. Drawing will be held on Sunday at the Grand Finale. Winner need not be present to claim the prize.

Every year, dedicated volunteers gather together to create a masterpiece of artistry out of fabric and love. The Storytelling Quilt is made by the local people of the San Juan Ridge and Nevada City in order to support the long cultural endeavor of the Sierra Storytelling Festival. As many of you know, volunteers are the backbone of the North Columbia Schoolhouse, not only in the making of the quilt but by countless hours preparing the Schoolhouse and amphitheater, sending out mailings, making phone calls and generally pouring their hearts into the place that has birthed the Storytelling Festival for over 20 years.

Quilts are an old tradition of both art and utility. A quilt can be used practically as well as admired artistically. In this way, they are similar to the art of storytelling, by bringing home messages of universal understanding and appreciated for the way in which the story is told.

The winner of the Storytelling Quilt will then bring home a little bit of the tradition and place of the Sierra Storytelling Festival, and all ticket buyers will be supporting this important cultural tradition.
